L’inedito circuito Kymiring, a pochi chilometri da Kausala, ha ospitato il Gran Premio della Finlandia, tredicesimo appuntamento del Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM 2025.
Tredicesimo nelle prove cronometrate, Ben Watson (Beta RX450) è scattato ottavo in qualifica, ben difendendosi per tutta la gara e tagliando il traguardo in nona posizione. Il pilota ha chiuso a ridosso della top ten entrambe le manche di gara, dodicesimo e undicesimo. Undicesimo assoluto, Ben si è confermato al dodicesimo posto nella classifica di campionato.
Tom Koch (Beta RX450) ha segnato il sedicesimo tempo nelle prove cronometrate. In qualifica il pilota tedesco ha ottenuto il medesimo piazzamento. Nella prima manche, terminata in sedicesima posizione, è stato costretto a rincorrere dopo un’escursione fuori pista subito dopo il via. Nella seconda la partenza è andata meglio e Tom ha finito quattordicesimo. Quindicesimo assoluto, Koch è ventiquattresimo in campionato.
Ben Watson: “Quello finlandese è stato un GP che mi ha lasciato con sensazioni contrastanti. Mi sono trovato benissimo su questo circuito. In qualifica sono partito male ma guidavo bene. Ho perso molto tempo a fare alcuni sorpassi ma ho ottenuto un buon nono posto. Domenica ho iniziato bene la prima manche ma ho avuto problemi al freno posteriore dopo qualche giro. In queste condizioni non riuscivo a guidare come volevo e ho finito dodicesimo. Nella seconda sono caduto alla seconda curva, ho fatto del mio meglio per continuare e penso di essermela cavata bene. Mi dispiace perché con la velocità che avevo avrei potuto fare meglio. Spero di migliorare in Repubblica Ceca.”
Tom Koch: “Nuovo circuito per il calendario, nonché uno dei più difficili, che girandoci si è dimostrato molto impegnativo. Sabato ho faticato a trovare il feeling ma sono comunque riuscito a chiudere la qualifica al sedicesimo posto. Nella prima manche sono uscito di pista dopo il via e ho dovuto rimontare. In entrambe le gare però ho perso il ritmo dopo una decina di minuti. Considerando come sono andate le altre gare su sabbia posso dire che i piazzamenti odierni sono positivi. Non vedo l’ora di tornare in pista a Loket tra due settimane. Poi lavoreremo al massimo con il team per migliorare ulteriormente la mia velocità sulla sabbia.”
Tra due settimane MRT Racing Team Beta Factory sarà impegnato nel Gran Premio della Repubblica Ceca che sarà ospitato dallo storico circuito “Serpentine” di Loket.

The unique Kymiring circuit, a few kilometers from Kausala, hosted the Grand Prix of Finland, the 13th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship 2025.
13th in time trials, Ben Watson (Beta RX450) started 8th in qualifying, he defended well during the race and crossed the finish line in 9th. The rider finished close to the top ten in both rounds of the race, 12th and 11th. 11th overall, Ben confirmed his 12th position in the championship standings.
Tom Koch (Beta RX450) set the 16th fastest time in time trials. In qualifying, the German rider secured the same placing. In the first round, which ended in 16th position, he was forced to chase after an off-track excursion right after the start. In the second one, the start was better and Tom finished 14th. 15th overall, Koch is 24th in the championship.
Ben Watson: “The Finnish one was a GP that left me with mixed feelings. I felt great on track. In qualifying I had a bad start but was riding well. I lost a lot of time doing some overtaking but got a good 9th position. On Sunday I started the first round well but had problems with the rear brake after a few laps. In these conditions I could not ride as I wanted and I finished 12th. In the second one I crashed in the second corner, I did my best to keep going and I think it went well. I’m sorry because with the speed I had I could have done better. I hope to improve in the Czech Republic.”
Tom Koch: “New circuit for the calendar known to be one of the most difficult, it proved to be very challenging. On Saturday I struggled to find the feeling but still managed to finish qualifying in 16th position. In the first round I went off the track after the start and had to comeback. In both races, however, I lost my pace after about ten minutes. Considering how the other sand races went I think that today’s placings are positive. I am looking forward to getting back on track in Loket in two weeks. Then we will work hard with the team to further improve my speed on the sand.”
In two weeks MRT Racing Team Beta Factory will be racing in the Czech Republic Grand Prix to be hosted in the historic “Serpentine” circuit in Loket.
