MXGP 15 – Uddevalla

Il Glimminge Motorstadion di Uddevalla ha ospitato il Gran Premio di Svezia, quindicesimo round del Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM 2026.
Il tracciato scandinavo ha esordito nel panorama del motocross mondiale nel lontano 1958, con la vittoria del pilota di casa Sten Lundin, e dai primi anni 2000 è entrato a far parte stabilmente del calendario iridato.
Nella classe MXGP, Jago Geerts (Beta RX450) ha faticato a trovare il feeling con il tracciato nei primi turni. Ventunesimo nelle prove libere, nelle cronometrate il belga ha segnato il diciassettesimo tempo. Jago ha poi concluso al tredicesimo posto la manche di qualifica dopo essere scattato quindicesimo, dimostrando una buona crescita sul selettivo tracciato svedese. Nella prima manche, dopo una buona partenza in sedicesima posizione, Geerts ha recuperato qualche posizione chiudendo quattordicesimo. La fortuna non ha aiutato il belga in gara due: quindicesimo per buona parte della gara, nel finale è rimasto coinvolto in una rovinosa caduta dopo un contatto con un avversario, evento che non gli ha permesso di terminare la corsa. Diciottesimo di giornata, Geerts ha mantenuto la sedicesima posizione nella classifica di campionato. Il belga domani verrà sottoposto ad ulteriori esami clinici per valutare le sue condizioni in vista dei prossimi appuntamenti iridati.
Molta sfortuna anche per Brando Rispoli, che per una caduta in allenamento non ha potuto schierarsi al via del decimo round del Campionato Europeo EMX250. Il toscano ha rimediato una frattura all’alluce che molto probabilmente non gli permetterà di partecipare agli ultimi due appuntamenti della serie continentale, in programma in Olanda e Turchia nelle prossime settimane.
Archiviato il Gran Premio di Svezia, il prossimo weekend il team MRT Racing Team Beta Factory sarà impegnato nel Gran Premio dei Paesi Bassi, sedicesimo appuntamento iridato della stagione, che si disputerà sul circuito olandese di Arnhem.

Jago Geerts: “Sono molto deluso per aver concluso il weekend con una brutta caduta. Non mi sentivo particolarmente a mio agio in pista, ma in gara ho dato comunque il massimo. Nella seconda manche il pilota che mi precedeva continuava a incrociare le traiettorie sui salti: era davvero molto pericoloso. Alla fine c’è stato un contatto e siamo caduti entrambi. La sua moto mi ha colpito la gamba e provo molto dolore. Domani andrò subito dal mio medico in Belgio. Spero non sia nulla di grave e di ricevere notizie rassicuranti.”

The Glimminge Motorstadion in Uddevalla hosted the Swedish Grand Prix, the fifteenth round of the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship.
The Scandinavian track made its debut on the world motocross scene back in 1958, with home rider Sten Lundin taking victory, and since the early 2000s it has been a permanent fixture on the World Championship calendar.
In the MXGP class, Jago Geerts (Beta RX450) struggled to find his rhythm on the track during the opening sessions. Twenty-first in free practice, the Belgian rider posted the seventeenth-fastest time in qualifying. Jago then finished thirteenth in the qualifying race after starting from fifteenth, showing steady improvement on the challenging Swedish circuit.
In the opening race, after a solid start in sixteenth position, Geerts made up several places to finish fourteenth. Luck was not on the Belgian’s side in Race 2: running fifteenth for much of the race, he was involved in a heavy crash towards the end following contact with another rider, forcing him to retire from the race. Eighteenth overall on the day, Geerts retained sixteenth position in the championship standings. Tomorrow, the Belgian rider will undergo further medical examinations to assess his condition ahead of the upcoming rounds of the World Championship.
Brando Rispoli was also hit by misfortune. Following a crash during practice, he was unable to line up for the start of the tenth round of the EMX250 European Championship. The Italian rider sustained a fracture to his big toe, which will most likely prevent him from taking part in the final two rounds of the continental series, scheduled to take place in the Netherlands and Turkey over the coming weeks.
With the Swedish Grand Prix now concluded, the MRT Racing Team Beta Factory will be back in action next weekend for the Dutch Grand Prix, the sixteenth round of the World Championship season, which will take place at the Dutch circuit of Arnhem.

Jago Geerts: “I am very disappointed to have ended the weekend with a bad crash. I didn’t feel particularly comfortable on the track, but I still gave it my all in the races. In the second race, the rider in front of me kept crossing his line over the jumps, which was really dangerous. Eventually, we made contact and we both crashed. His bike hit my leg and I am in a lot of pain. Tomorrow I will go straight to my doctor in Belgium. I hope it is nothing serious and that I will receive reassuring news.”
