Dopo i buoni risultati ottenuti nelle gare precedenti, Jago Geerts (Beta RX450) era molto atteso nella gara di casa. Ottavo al termine delle prove libere MXGP, il belga nelle cronometrate è stato ancora molto veloce e ha segnato il decimo tempo. In qualifica ha centrato una buona partenza a ridosso della top ten ed è stato in grado di rimontare fino alla decima posizione. Buona la partenza anche nella prima manche ma una caduta e nei primi giri mentre occupava il nono posto l’ha fatto scivolare indietro. Jago non ha mollato e ha rimontato ancora terminando la gara in dodicesima posizione. Una caduta in partenza ha complicato l’avvio della seconda manche di Geerts che una volta risalito in sella ha recuperato fino all’undicesimo posto. Dodicesimo, a pari punti con l’undicesimo, nell’assoluta di giornata, il belga ha mantenuto la sedicesima posizione in campionato.
Dopo l’ottimo terzo posto ottenuto il weekend scorso nell’Europeo EMX2T, Brando Rispoli (Beta RX250 2t) è sceso in pista a Lommel nel nono round del Campionato Europeo EMX250. Diciannovesimo nelle libere, il toscano non è riuscito a trovare il giro buono nelle cronometrate dove ha segnato il venticinquesimo tempo. Nella prima manche la fortuna non ha aiutato Brando in partenza. Costretto a rimontare, ha recuperato fino alla diciottesima posizione al traguardo raccogliendo i primi punti di giornata. Nella seconda è stato fermato da una caduta nel corso del primo giro. Dopo aver percorso alcuni giri ha preferito fermarsi perché con il ritardo accumulato un piazzamento in zona punti non era più alla sua portata. Grazie ai tre punti guadagnati in gara uno Rispoli è finito venticinquesimo nell’assoluta di giornata. La gara di Lommel ha chiuso un trittico di gare consecutive che hanno impegnato MRT Racing Team Beta Factory nelle ultime settimane. Il circuito di Uddevalla ospiterà nel weekend di Ferragosto il Gran Premio di Svezia, quindicesimo round di diciannove dell’edizione 2026 del Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM.
Jago Geerts: “Sono soddisfatto di come ho guidato questo weekend. Oggi ho avuto un po’ di sfortuna nelle gare. Ho rimediato una caduta nella prima manche e una in partenza nella seconda. Nonostante tutto, sono riuscito a rimontare bene in entrambe le occasioni e ho concluso appena fuori dalla top ten. Continuiamo a lavorare in vista dei prossimi impegni per ottenere risultati ancora migliori.”
Brando Rispoli: “Lommel si è confermata molto impegnativa. Essere veloci su questo terreno è molto difficile. In prova ho trovato molto traffico in pista e non sono riuscito a fare un giro buono. Nella prima manche la partenza non è stata buona ma ho recuperato fino a raggiungere la zona punti. Nella seconda sono caduto al primo giro e ho preferito fermarmi perché un piazzamento a punti non era alla portata. In ogni caso ho accumulato molta esperienza che mi servirà per gli impegni futuri sui fondi sabbiosi.“

The Lommel circuit hosted the fourteenth round of the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship, the Flanders Grand Prix. The Belgian track, with its deep sand, is considered one of the most difficult and demanding of the entire season.
Following his strong performances in previous races, Jago Geerts (Beta RX450) was a rider to watch at his home race. Eighth at the end of MXGP free practice, the Belgian was once again very quick in timed practice, setting the tenth-fastest time. In qualifying, he got off to a good start just outside the top ten and managed to fight his way back up to tenth position. He also got off to a good start in the first heat, but a crash in the opening laps whilst in ninth position saw him slip back to a lower position. Jago didn’t give up and fought his way back up again, finishing the race in twelfth position. A crash at the start complicated Geerts’ start to the second heat, but once back in the saddle he fought his way back up to eleventh position. Finishing twelfth, level on points with the eleventh-placed rider, in the day’s overall standings, the Belgian retained his sixteenth position in the championship.
Following his excellent third place last weekend in the EMX2T European Championship, Brando Rispoli (Beta RX250 2-stroke) took to the track at Lommel for the ninth round of the EMX250 European Championship. Nineteenth in free practice, the Tuscan rider was unable to find a fast lap in qualifying, where he set the twenty-fifth fastest time. In the first race, luck was not on Brando’s side at the start. Forced to fight his way back up the field, he recovered to eighteenth position at the finish line, securing his first points of the day. In the second race, he was brought to a halt by a crash on the first lap. After completing a few laps, he decided to pull out because, given the gap he had fallen behind, a place in the points was no longer within his reach. Thanks to the three points earned in race one, Rispoli finished twenty-fifth overall for the day. The race at Lommel brought to a close a trio of consecutive races that have kept the MRT Racing Team Beta Factory busy over the past few weeks. The Uddevalla circuit will host the Swedish Grand Prix over the mid-August bank holiday weekend, the fifteenth round of nineteen in the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship.
Jago Geerts: “I’m pleased with how I rode this weekend. I had a bit of bad luck in the races today. I had a crash in the first race and another at the start of the second. Despite everything, I managed to fight my way back well on both occasions and finished just outside the top ten. We’ll keep working ahead of our next races to achieve even better results.”
Brando Rispoli: “Lommel proved to be very challenging. It’s very difficult to be fast on this type of terrain. In qualifying, I encountered a lot of traffic on the track and wasn’t able to put in a good lap. In the first race, I didn’t get off to a good start but I fought my way back into the points. In the second race, I crashed on the first lap and decided to stop because a points-scoring finish wasn’t on the cards. In any case, I’ve gained a lot of experience that will stand me in good stead for future races on sandy tracks.”
