Dopo ventisei anni il Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM è tornato sullo storico circuito di Foxhills che ha ospitato il Gran Premio di Inghilterra, dodicesimo round della stagione iridata 2026. Il tracciato inglese è caratterizzato da un fondo compatto e da velocissimi saliscendi. Nella classe MXGP Jago Geerts (Beta RX450) nelle prove libere ha segnato il diciottesimo tempo. Nelle cronometrate il belga non è riuscito a trovare il giro buono e ha chiuso diciannovesimo. In qualifica, costretto a schierarsi da posizione defilata, è partito tra gli ultimi ma è riuscito a rimontare fino alla ventesima posizione. Nella prima manche Jago è rimasto a lungo sedicesimo ma dopo metà gara ha subito un lieve calo e ha finito diciottesimo. Nella seconda Geerts è partito a ridosso della top ten. Il belga ha iniziato immediatamente a recuperare.
Al decimo giro è salito al nono posto e l’ha mantenuto fino alla bandiera scacchi; è il miglior piazzamento di manche per Beta in questa stagione nella classe MXGP. Nella classifica di giornata Geerts ha centrato un’ottima dodicesima posizione e si è confermato al diciassettesimo posto in quella di campionato.
MRT Racing Team Beta Factory tornerà in gara il prossimo fine settimana a Loket nel Gran Premio della Repubblica Ceca, tredicesimo round di diciannove in programma nel Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM 2026, che sarà ospitato dallo storico circuito Loketske Serpentiny.
Jago Geerts: “Sono molto contento del risultato della seconda manche. Sono scattato bene in partenza e ho trovato immediatamente il feeling con il tracciato. Ho chiuso nono, un buon risultato dopo una prima manche in cui non mi sono mai sentito a mio agio. Nella seconda manche la pista è molto più scavata e impegnativa. Condizioni in cui riesco ad esprimermi al meglio. Sono felice di aver terminato il fine settimana in questo modo. Mi sto allenando bene e negli ultimi mesi la mia guida è migliorata parecchio. Anche la moto ha ricevuto alcuni aggiornamenti che l’hanno resa più adatta al mio stile di guida.”

After twenty-six years, the FIM Motocross World Championship returned to the historic Foxhills circuit, which hosted the British Grand Prix, the twelfth round of the 2026 world championship season. The British track is characterized by hard-packed terrain and fast, flowing elevation changes.
In the MXGP class, Jago Geerts (Beta RX450) set the eighteenth-fastest time in free practice. In the timed practice session, the Belgian was struggling to put in a good lap and finished nineteenth. In qualifying, forced to start from a backmarker position, he set off among the last riders but managed to fight his way back up to twentieth place. In the first race, Jago remained in sixteenth place for a long time but suffered a slight dip in form halfway through the race and finished eighteenth. In the second race, Geerts started just outside the top ten. The Belgian immediately began to make up ground.
By the tenth lap, he had moved up to ninth place and held it until the chequered flag; this is Beta’s best race result of the season in the MXGP class. In the day’s standings, Geerts secured an excellent twelfth place and maintained his position at seventeenth in the championship standings.
The MRT Racing Team Beta Factory will return to action next weekend at Loket for the Czech Republic Grand Prix, the thirteenth of nineteen rounds scheduled in the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship, which will be hosted by the historic Loketske Serpentiny circuit.
Jago Geerts: “I’m very happy with the result in the second race. I got off to a good start and immediately found my rhythm on the track. I finished ninth, which is a good result after a first race where I never really felt comfortable. In the second race, the track was much rutted and more demanding – conditions in which I’m able to perform at my best. I’m happy to have ended the weekend this way. I’m training well and my riding has improved a lot over the last few months. The bike has also had some updates that have made it better suited to my riding style.”
