MXGP 17 – Afyon

Il tracciato di Afyon ha ospitato il diciassettesimo e terzultimo round del Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM 2026, il Gran Premio della Turchia. Il circuito asiatico ha ospitato per la nona volta una gara iridata dal debutto avvenuto nel 2018.
Nella classe MXGP Jago Geerts (Beta RX450) ha iniziato il fine settimana segnando il tredicesimo tempo sia nelle prove libere che nelle cronometrate. Il belga in qualifica è stato autore di una buona rimonta chiusa ancora al tredicesimo posto. Prima manche solida per Geerts che grazie a un buon passo è terminato tredicesimo. Jago nella seconda è stato in grado di migliorarsi chiudendo in dodicesima posizione. Tredicesimo assoluto, Jago è salito al quindicesimo posto nella classifica di campionato.
Archiviata la gara in Turchia, il prossimo fine settimana MRT Racing Team Beta Factory prenderà parte al Gran Premio della Cina, penultimo round dell’edizione 2026 del Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM che sarà disputato sul Shanghai International Offroad Circuit.

Jago Geerts: “Non è stato il miglior weekend in Turchia. Non è la mia pista preferita e ho faticato con la moto a causa dell’altitudine. Ho dato il 100% in ogni sessione, non vedo l’ora che arrivi il prossimo weekend in Cina”.

The Afyon track hosted the seventeenth and penultimate round of the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship, the Turkish Grand Prix. The Asian circuit hosted a world championship race for the ninth time since its debut in 2018.
In the MXGP class, Jago Geerts (Beta RX450) started the weekend with the thirteenth fastest time in both free practice and timed practice. The Belgian mounted a solid comeback in qualifying, finishing thirteenth again. Geerts had a solid first moto, posting good pace to finish thirteenth. Jago improved in the second moto, finishing twelfth. Thirteenth overall, Jago climbed to fifteenth in the championship standings.
With the race in Turkey now behind us, next weekend MRT Racing Team Beta Factory will take part in the Grand Prix of China, the penultimate round of the 2026 edition of the FIM Motocross World Championship, which will be held at the Shanghai International Offroad Circuit.
