Il circuito di Shanghai ha ospitato il penultimo appuntamento del Campionato del Mondo Motocross FIM 2026. MRT Racing Team Beta Factory è sceso in pista per affrontare la complessa trasferta asiatica schierando Jago Geerts (Beta Rx450) nella classe MXGP. In un contesto tecnico altamente competitivo la squadra e il pilota belga hanno dimostrato una costante crescita nel corso del weekend.
Jago ha segnato un ottimo sesto tempo nelle prove cronometrate che hanno decretato lo schieramento della manche qualifica. Gara nella quale il belga è scattato in settima posizione. Piazzamento che ha difeso con successo fino alla bandiera a scacchi. La partenza della prima manche non è stata fortunata ma grazie all’ottimo passo ha rimontato fino all’ottava posizione finale. Nella manche conclusiva, malgrado nel finale la fatica si sia fatta sentire, è riuscito a chiudere in nona posizione. Risultato confermato anche nell’assoluta di giornata, chiusa da Jago con il miglior bottino di punti di tutta la stagione. Risultato che gli ha permesso anche di salire al quattordicesimo posto nella classifica di campionato. Il prossimo fine settimana MRT Racing Team Beta Factory sarà impegnata a Darwin nel Gran Premio di Australia, gara che farà calare definitivamente il sipario sull’edizione 2026 del Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM.
Jago Geerts: “È stato un buon weekend. Fin dalla prima sessione di prove mi sono sentito a mio agio in pista. Sfortunatamente oggi non ho avuto molta fortuna nelle partenze, ma sentivo di avere un buon passo. A causa della conformazione del tracciato ho faticato nei sorpassi. Ora guardo con fiducia al prossimo fine settimana per l’ultimo GP della stagione in Australia.”

The Shanghai circuit hosted the penultimate round of the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship. The MRT Racing Team Beta Factory took to the track to tackle the challenging Asian away race, fielding Jago Geerts (Beta Rx450) in the MXGP class. In a highly competitive and technically demanding environment, the team and the Belgian rider demonstrated steady improvement throughout the weekend.
Jago posted an excellent sixth-fastest time in qualifying, which determined the starting grid for the qualifying race. In that race, the Belgian started seventh and successfully held his position all the way to the checkered flag. He didn’t get off to a great start in the first race, but thanks to his great pace, he fought his way back to finish in eighth place. In the final race, despite fatigue setting in toward the end, he managed to finish in ninth position. This result was also reflected in the day’s overall standings, where Jago secured his best points haul of the entire season. This result also allowed him to climb to fourteenth place in the championship standings. Next weekend, the MRT Racing Team Beta Factory will be competing in Darwin at the Australian Grand Prix, a race that will bring the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship to a definitive close.Jago Geerts: “It was a good weekend.
