Il Crossdromo Internacional de Agueda ha ospitato il Gran Premio del Portogallo, decimo round del Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM 2026 e gara che ha segnato il giro di boa della stagione.
Nella classe MXGP Jago Geerts (Beta RX450) ha iniziato il fine settimana segnando il decimo tempo nelle prove libere. Dodicesimo nelle cronometrate, il belga in qualifica è stato costretto a fermarsi nel corso dell’ottavo giro. Nella prima manche è scattato in sedicesima posizione e ha difeso il piazzamento fino alla bandiera a scacchi. Nella seconda, malgrado si sia trovato più attardato subito dopo il via, è stato autore di una buona rimonta che gli ha permesso di chiudere quattordicesimo. Jago ha finito quindicesimo nell’assoluta di giornata e si è confermato in sedicesima posizione nella classifica di campionato.
Nell’ottavo round dell’europeo EMX250 Brando Rispoli (Beta RX250 2t) ha segnato il ventunesimo tempo nelle prove cronometrate. Nella prima manche, dopo una partenza sfortunata, il toscano ha iniziato una rimonta che l’ha portato in zona punti. Una caduta nei giri finali l’ha fatto scivolare in ventottesima posizione. Nella seconda la partenza è andata decisamente meglio ma Rispoli non è riuscito a trovare il feeling con il tracciato terminando ventiduesimo.
Impegnato come Rispoli nell’europeo EMX250, Alexis Fueri (Beta RX250 2t) ha chiuso con un fantastico secondo tempo le prove libere.
Sfortunatamente il francese è incappato in una spettacolare caduta nelle cronometrate, che non gli ha permesso di schierarsi al via delle manche titolate.
Il prossimo fine settimana MRT Racing Team Beta Factory si trasferirà a Johannesburg per il Gran Premio della Repubblica Sudafricana, undicesimo appuntamento dell’edizione 2026 del Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM che sarà disputato sull’inedito tracciato del Terra Topia MX Track di Johannesburg.
Jago Geerts: “Fine settimana poco incisivo per me. Sabato una qualifica sfortunata mi ha precluso la possibilità di partire bene nelle manche titolate. Nella seconda manche ho guidato bene e il risultato è stato soddisfacente. Ripartiamo da questo risultato per fare meglio nelle prossime gare.”
Brando Rispoli: “Per tutto il fine settimana non sono riuscito a trovare il feeling con moto e tracciato. Sabato non ero a posto fisicamente e anche domenica ho fatto molta fatica. In ogni caso ho cercato di fare del mio meglio come al solito. Dispiace che i risultati sono stati al di sotto delle aspettative.”
Alexis Fueri: “Il sabato era iniziato nel migliore dei modi e nelle prove libere ho segnato il secondo tempo. Purtroppo durante le cronometrate mentre mi preparavo ad affrontare un giro veloce sono caduto malamente sul lungo salto del traguardo. Ho rimediato una forte contusione al torace che non mi ha permesso di continuare il weekend.”

Beta MRT – Portuguese Grand Prix – Agueda
The Crossdromo Internacional de Agueda hosted the Portuguese Grand Prix, the tenth round of the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship and the race that marked the halfway point of the season.
In the MXGP class, Jago Geerts (Beta RX450) started the weekend by setting the tenth-fastest time in free practice. Twelfth in the timed practice session, the Belgian was forced to stop during the eighth lap of qualifying. In the first race, he started in sixteenth position and held that spot until the checkered flag. In the second race, despite falling back early after the start, he staged a strong comeback that allowed him to finish fourteenth. Jago finished fifteenth overall for the day and remained in sixteenth place in the championship standings.
In the eighth round of the European EMX250 Championship, Brando Rispoli (Beta RX250 2t) posted the twenty-first-fastest time in qualifying. In the first race, after an unlucky start, the Tuscan rider began a comeback that took him into the points. A crash in the final laps caused him to slip back to twenty-eighth place. In the second race, the start went much better, but Rispoli was unable to find his rhythm on the track and finished twenty-second.
Also competing in the EMX250 European Championship, Alexis Fueri (Beta RX250 2t) posted a fantastic second-fastest time in free practice.
Unfortunately, the French rider suffered a spectacular crash during qualifying. The injuries he sustained prevented him from lining up at the start of the main heats.
Next weekend, the MRT Racing Team Beta Factory will head to Johannesburg for the South African Grand Prix, the eleventh round of the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship, which will be held on the brand-new Terra Topia MX Track in Johannesburg.
Jago Geerts: “It wasn’t a very strong weekend for me. An unlucky qualifying session on Saturday prevented me from getting off to a good start in the championship races. In the second race, I rode well and the result was satisfactory. We’ll build on this result to do better in the upcoming races.”
Brando Rispoli: “All weekend long, I couldn’t find the right feel for the bike and the track. On Saturday, I wasn’t feeling physically up to it, and I really struggled on Sunday as well. In any case, I tried to do my best as usual. It’s a shame the results fell short of expectations.”
Alexis Fueri: “The weekend had started off in the best possible way, and I set the second-fastest time in free practice. Unfortunately, during qualifying, as I was preparing to tackle a fast lap, I took a hard fall on the long jump at the finish line. I suffered a severe chest contusion that prevented me from continuing the weekend.”
