adminFreddo e maltempo hanno caratterizzato il fine settimana del Gran Premio di Svizzera, terzo round del Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM 2026, che è stato disputato sul circuito di Frauenfeld. Nella classe MXGP Jago Geerts ha segnato il ventitreesimo tempo nelle prove cronometrate. Il pilota belga in qualifica non è riuscito a migliorare il feeling col tracciato terminando ventiquattresimo. In gara uno, disputata sotto una pioggia insistente, Jago ha rimontato diverse posizioni chiudendo al sedicesimo posto. Nella seconda manche ha pagato un’indecisione che l’ha fatto scivolare fuori dalla zona punti. Nel corso della gara però ha recuperato terminando diciottesimo. Piazzamento confermato anche nell’assoluta di giornata. Queste le parole di Geerts al termine della gara: “Ho avuto un weekend difficile. Sabato ho faticato molto in pista. Domenica il feeling con la moto è migliorato e ho guidato con più convinzione. Nella seconda manche ho fatto spegnere la moto nei primi giri e sono stato costretto a rimontare dal fondo. Sfrutterò le prossime due settimane per allenarmi e farmi trovare pronto per la gara di Riola.”
Dopo l’infortunio che non gli ha permesso di partecipare ai primi due GP della stagione, Rick Elzinga ha fatto il suo debutto nella classe MXGP. Trentaduesimo in prova, il pilota olandese si è ritirato dopo qualche giro in qualifica. Costretto a schierarsi per ultimo al cancello nelle manche titolate, Rick ha pagato la preparazione fisica non ancora ottimale chiudendo ventiduesimo e trentunesimo le gare.
“Questa è stata la mia prima gara della stagione. Sono contento del feeling che ho avuto con la moto e di come ho guidato. – ha commentato Elzinga al termine del suo debutto ufficiale – I miei risultati non mi hanno assolutamente soddisfatto perché il mio livello è sicuramente superiore. Rientrare da un infortunio non è mai semplice ma sono convinto che con l’aiuto del team sarò presto in grado di puntare a piazzamenti migliori.”
Nel secondo round dell’Europeo EMX250 Alexis Fueri ha chiuso le prove cronometrate segnando il sesto tempo nel suo gruppo. Il francese ha messo a segno una strepitosa prima manche. Quinto in partenza, Alexis ha iniziato a spingere al massimo riuscendo a tagliare il traguardo in terza posizione. In gara due, con la pista in pessime condizioni, è stato rallentato da un paio di cadute finendo quindicesimo. Settimo nell’assoluta di giornata, Fueri occupa l’ottavo posto nella classifica di campionato. Queste le parole di Fueri al termine del weekend di gara: “E’ molto frustrante terminare il fine settimana in questo modo, soprattutto dopo l’ottimo terzo posto che ho centrato sabato in gara uno. Sfortunatamente nella seconda manche non ho mai trovato il ritmo e sono caduto due volte. Dispiace perché potevo terminare molto più avanti nell’assoluta di giornata.”
Impegnato nell’ Europeo EMX250 anche Brando Rispoli. Il pilota toscano ha segnato il decimo tempo nel suo gruppo di cronometrate ma ha subìto due violente cadute. I colpi rimediati non gli hanno permesso di portare a termine la prima manche. Nella seconda manche, disputata domenica mattina sotto la pioggia, Brando ha centrato l’holeshot e ha guidato la corsa fino a metà gara. Nel finale ha subìto la rimonta di alcuni avversari ma ha tagliato il traguardo con un’ottima quinta posizione. Dodicesimo assoluto, Rispoli è ventesimo in campionato. “Sabato avevo un ottimo feeling con moto e pista ma nelle prove cronometrate sono caduto un paio di volte. – ha commentato Rispoli al termine della gara – Le botte che ho rimediato non mi hanno permesso di portare a termine la prima manche. Nella seconda ho deciso di provare ugualmente a partire anche se non stavo benissimo. Non riuscivo a guidare come avrei voluto ma sono partito al comando e ho mantenuto la testa della corsa per molti giri. Nel finale la mia azione è stata meno brillante ma ho chiuso quinto. Finalmente una bella prestazione dopo un inizio di stagione molto sfortunato.”
Tra due settimane il Beta MRT Racing Team sarà impegnato nel Gran Premio di Sardegna, quarto appuntamento del Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM 2026, che sarà ospitato sul circuito di Riola Sardo.
ENGLISH – Cold weather and inclement conditions marked the weekend of the Swiss Grand Prix, the third round of the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship, which took place at the Frauenfeld circuit. In the MXGP class, Jago Geerts posted the 23rd-fastest time in qualifying. The Belgian rider was unable to improve his feel for the track during qualifying, finishing 24th. In Race 1, held in heavy rain, Jago made up several positions to finish in 16th position. In the second race, he paid the price for a moment of indecision that caused him to slip out of the points zone. However, he recovered during the race to finish 18th. This result was also his final standing for the day.
Here is what Geerts had to say after the race: “I had a difficult weekend. On Saturday, I struggled a lot on the track. On Sunday, my feeling with the bike improved, and I rode with more confidence. In the second race, I stalled the bike in the early laps and was forced to fight my way back from the back of the pack. I’ll use the next two weeks to train and get ready for the race at Riola.”
After the injury that prevented him from competing in the first two GPs of the season, Rick Elzinga made his debut in the MXGP class. Thirty-second in practice, the Dutch rider retired after a few laps in qualifying. Forced to start last at the gate in the main races, Rick paid the price for his physical conditioning not yet being optimal, finishing twenty-second and thirty-first in the races.
“This was my first race of the season. I’m happy with the feeling I had with the bike and how I rode,” commented Elzinga after his official debut. “I’m not at all satisfied with my results because my level is definitely higher. Coming back from an injury is never easy, but I’m convinced that with the team’s help, I’ll soon be able to aim for better finishes.”In the second round of the EMX250 European Championship, Alexis Fueri finished qualifying with the sixth-fastest time in his group. The Frenchman delivered a sensational first race. Starting fifth, Alexis pushed hard from the start and managed to cross the finish line in third position. In race two, with the track in terrible condition, he was slowed down by a couple of crashes and finished fifteenth. Seventh overall for the day, Fueri holds eighth position in the championship standings.
Here’s what Fueri had to say at the end of the race weekend: “It’s very frustrating to end the weekend this way, especially after the excellent third-position finish I achieved on Saturday in race one. Unfortunately, in the second race I never found my rhythm and crashed twice. It’s a shame because I could have finished much higher in the overall standings for the day.”Brando Rispoli was also competing in the EMX250 European Championship. The Tuscan rider posted the tenth-fastest time in his qualifying group but suffered two hard crashes. The injuries sustained prevented him from finishing the first race. In the second race, held Sunday morning in the rain, Brando took the holeshot and led the race until the halfway point. In the final stretch, he was overtaken by a few rivals but crossed the finish line in an excellent fifth position. Twelfth overall, Rispoli is twentieth in the championship.
“On Saturday I had a great feeling with the bike and the track, but I crashed a couple of times in the timed practice sessions. – Rispoli commented after the race – The crashes I took didn’t allow me to finish the first race. In the second, I decided to start anyway even though I wasn’t feeling great. I couldn’t ride as I would have liked, but I started in the lead and held the top spot for many laps. Toward the end, my performance wasn’t as strong, but I finished fifth. Finally, a good performance after a very unlucky start to the season.”
