Ben Watson (Beta RX450), dopo il 16° tempo nelle libere, è arrivato 14° nelle prove ufficiali. Ottima qualifica per il pilota inglese, che dopo una buona partenza ha chiuso 8°. In Gara 1, Watson si è trovato intorno alla ventesima posizione nei primi giri, ma ha recuperato fino alla 12ª posizione finale. Nella seconda manche è scattato meglio e, nonostante qualche difficoltà iniziale nel trovare ritmo, ha chiuso nuovamente 12°. Il pilota conclude il GP con un 10° posto assoluto e si aggiudica così la 12ª posizione di Campionato.
Buon inizio anche per Tom Koch (Beta RX450), 17° nelle libere. Nelle cronometrate ha faticato a trovare ritmo, chiudendo 18°, ma si è riscattato in qualifica: partito a ridosso della top ten, ha difeso con grinta la posizione e ha chiuso 13°. In Gara 1, ancora all’attacco, ha conquistato punti chiudendo 19°; mentre nella seconda manche è stato più incisivo, tagliando il traguardo in 14ª posizione. Risultati che gli hanno permesso di terminare 17° Assoluto in giornata.
Ben Watson: “È stato un weekend positivo. Fin dalle prove ho avuto buone sensazioni e in qualifica ho chiuso con un ottimo 8° posto. In Gara 1, non sono partito bene ma ho fatto una bella rimonta. In Gara 2, la partenza è stata migliore, ma nei primi giri ero troppo lento e ho faticato a superare. Poi ho trovato il ritmo e ho chiuso di nuovo 12°. Buoni piazzamenti, ma so che potevo fare qualcosa in più. Continuiamo con costanza, non vedo l’ora di correre in Svizzera.”
Tom Koch: “C’erano tanti piloti al via e, rispetto all’anno scorso, la pista presentava alcune modifiche che mi sono piaciute. Dopo il difficile weekend di Riola mi sono concentrato su me stesso per dare il massimo. Sabato in prova mi sentivo bene e la qualifica ne è la dimostrazione: 13°, una posizione che mi ha permesso di partire con un buon piazzamento. Domenica, con la pioggia, il tracciato è cambiato: più scavato e bucato. In Gara 1 sono partito male, ma ho recuperato fino al 19° posto. Nei primi giri non avevo fiducia ma poi ho trovato ritmo. In Gara 2 sono partito meglio, ho fatto qualche errore iniziale ma nel finale mi sentivo bene. Abbiamo fatto un buon passo avanti e sono fiducioso per le prossime gare.”
Archiviate le due tappe italiane, il prossimo fine settimana il MRT Racing Team Beta Factory sarà in pista a Frauenfeld, per il Gran Premio della Svizzera, sesto round del mondiale e terza gara consecutiva in tre settimane. Le qualifiche si svolgeranno sabato, mentre le manche titolate si correranno lunedì 21 aprile, in occasione del Lunedì dell’Angelo.

The picturesque Pietramurata track hosted the Grand Prix of Trentino, the 5th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship 2025 and the 2nd consecutive GP held in Italy.
Ben Watson (Beta RX450), after the 16th time in free practice, finished 14th in the official session. Excellent qualifying for the British rider, who after a good start finished 8th. In Race 1, Watson found himself around 20th position in the first laps but recovered up to 12th final position. In the 2nd heat he got off to a better start and, despite some initial difficulties in finding the rhythm, he finished 12th again. The rider completed the GP with a 10th position overall and thus secured himself the 12th position in the Championship.
A good start also for Tom Koch (Beta RX450), 17th in free practice. In the time trials he struggled to find the right pace, finishing 18th, but made up for it in qualifying: he started near the top ten, defended his position with determination and finished 13th. In Race 1, still fighting for points, he finished 19th, while in the second race he was more decisive, crossing the finish line in 14th position. These results allowed him to finish 17th Overall on the Day.
Ben Watson: ‘It was a positive weekend. Right from practice I had a good feeling and in qualifying I finished in an excellent 8th position. In Race 1, I didn’t get a good start but made a good comeback. In Race 2, the start was better, but in the first laps I was too slow and struggled to overtake. Then I found my rhythm and finished 12th again. Good placings, but I know I could have done more. Let’s keep going steadily, I’m looking forward to the race in Switzerland.”
Tom Koch: “There were many riders at the start and, compared to last year, the track presented some changes that I liked. After the difficult weekend in Riola I focused on giving my best. On Saturday in practice I felt good and the qualifying session proved it: 13th, a position that allowed me to start with a good placing. On Sunday, with the rain, the track changed: more dug-out and potholed. In Race 1 I got off to a bad start, but recovered as far as 19th position. In the first laps I had no confidence but then I found my rhythm. In Race 2 I started better, made a few mistakes at the beginning but felt good in the end. We took a good step forward and I am confident for the next races.”
After the two Italian rounds, the MRT Racing Team Beta Factory will be on track next weekend at Frauenfeld, for the Grand Prix of Switzerland, the 6th round of the World Championship and the 3rd consecutive race in three weeks. Qualifying will take place on Saturday, while the titular heats will be run on Monday 21st April, on Angel Monday.
