Nella classe MXGP risultati incoraggianti per Jago Geerts (Beta RX450). Il belga ha dimostrato fin da subito di apprezzare il tracciato lettone segnando il quindicesimo tempo nelle prove cronometrate. In qualifica, dopo essere rimasto a lungo a ridosso della top ten, Jago ha chiuso al quattordicesimo posto. Nella prima manche, chiusa in diciottesima posizione, è stato costretto a rimontare dopo una partenza sfortunata. Ottima prestazione nella seconda: scattato decimo in partenza, Geerts ha percorso alcuni giri all’ottavo posto. Nel finale ha subito il ritorno di alcuni avversari ma ha tagliato il traguardo in decima posizione, il miglior piazzamento stagionale per il belga. Tredicesimo nell’assoluta di giornata, grazie ai punti guadagnati è salito al diciottesimo posto nella classifica di campionato.
Nel sesto round del Campionato Europeo EMX250 Brando Rispoli (Beta RX250 2t) ha segnato il diciottesimo tempo nel suo gruppo di prove cronometrate centrando la qualificazione per le gare titolate. Brando non è riuscito a trovare il giusto feeling con il tracciato e ha chiuso al ventisettesimo e trentesimo posto le due manche.
Poca fortuna anche per Alexis Fueri (Beta RX250 2t), come Rispoli schierato al via dell’Europeo EMX250. Diciassettesimo nel suo gruppo di cronometrate, il francese si è lussato una spalla in gara uno ed è stato costretto al ritiro.
MRT Racing Team Beta Factory tornerà in pista tra due settimane nel Gran Premio d’Italia, nono appuntamento del Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM 2026, che sarà disputato sul circuito Miravalle di Montevarchi. Il tracciato toscano torna a ospitare una prova iridata dopo vent’anni.
Jago Geerts: “In Lettonia abbiamo fatto un altro passo nella giusta direzione. Sabato è stata una giornata positiva e ho espresso una buona velocità. Nella prima manche ho faticato a superare i piloti che mi precedevano. Non sono soddisfatto perché non avevo un buon ritmo. Nella seconda sono partito bene e ho finito la manche in decima posizione. Il primo piazzamento in top ten di questa stagione. Un bel modo di chiudere il weekend”.
Brando Rispoli: “Per tutto il fine settimana ho faticato a trovare il feeling con il tracciato. Fatico sempre sui fondi sabbiosi. Non mi arrendo e mi impegnerò al massimo per migliorare anche su questo tipo di terreno. Adesso il focus è puntato sulla prossima gara in programma a Montevarchi.”
Alexis Fueri: “Weekend difficile. Volevo assolutamente migliorare dopo il mezzo disastro dello scorso fine settimana ma sfortunatamente al primo giro di gara uno sono caduto e mi sono lussato la spalla.”

Beta MRT – Latvian Grand Prix
The Zelta Zirgs circuit in Kegums hosted the Latvian Grand Prix, the eighth round of the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship. The event in the Baltic nation brought to a close a trio of consecutive races that had kept the MRT Racing Team Beta Factory busy over the past three weeks.
In the MXGP class, there were encouraging results for Jago Geerts (Beta RX450). The Belgian showed right from the start that he was comfortable on the Latvian track, setting the fifteenth fastest time in free practice. In qualifying, after spending a long time just outside the top ten, Jago finished in fourteenth place. In the first race, which he finished in eighteenth position, he was forced to fight his way back up the field after an unfortunate start. An excellent performance in the second race: starting tenth, Geerts spent several laps in eighth position. In the closing stages, he was overtaken by a few rivals but crossed the line in tenth position, the Belgian’s best result of the season. Thirteenth overall for the day, the points earned saw him climb to eighteenth place in the championship standings.
In the sixth round of the EMX250 European Championship, Brando Rispoli (Beta RX250 2-stroke) set the eighteenth fastest time in his qualifying group, securing a place in the main races. Brando struggled to find the right feel for the track and finished the two heats in twenty-seventh and thirtieth place.
Alexis Fueri (Beta RX250 2t) also had little luck, like Rispoli, competing in the EMX250 European Championship. Seventeenth in his qualifying group, the Frenchman dislocated his shoulder in race one and was forced to retire.
MRT Racing Team Beta Factory will be back on track in two weeks’ time for the Italian Grand Prix, the ninth round of the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship, which will be held at the Miravalle circuit in Montevarchi. The Tuscan track is hosting a world championship round again after twenty years.
Jago Geerts: “In Latvia we took another step in the right direction. Saturday was a positive day and I showed good pace. In the first race I struggled to overtake the riders ahead of me. I’m not satisfied because I didn’t have a good rhythm. In the second race I got off to a good start and finished in tenth position. My first top-ten finish of the season. A nice way to end the weekend.”
Brando Rispoli: “I struggled to find my rhythm on the track all weekend. I always find it tough on sandy surfaces. I’m not giving up and I’ll do my utmost to improve on this type of terrain too. Now the focus is on the next race, scheduled for Montevarchi.”
Alexis Fueri: ‘A difficult weekend. I was absolutely determined to improve after last weekend’s near-disaster, but unfortunately I crashed on the first lap of Race One and dislocated my shoulder.
