L’olandese Rick Elzinga scenderà in pista nel Mondiale Motocross MXGP 2026 con la Beta RX450 del Team Beta MRT Racing: accordo raggiunto tra il Team Beta e il pilota ventitreenne nato a Zenderen.
Campione Europeo EMX 250 nel 2022, Rick ha chiuso nella top ten, arrivando settimo, la stagione 2024 del Mondiale MX2, raccogliendo il suo primo podio iridato in Portogallo ed un altro secondo posto nella mitica Lommel.
Anche nella stagione 2025, appena conclusa, Rick ha confermato le sue qualità nel Mondiale MX2 con costanti piazzamenti nella top 10 ed il tredicesimo posto in classifica finale nonostante l’assenza in quattro GP per l’infortunio ad una clavicola. Nel finale di stagione è tornato in sella con una buona condizione fisica, sfiorando subito il podio nell’ultimo GP in Australia, dove è stato terzo per gran parte di Gara 2.

Confermando la nostra strategia di avere un pilota più esperto nella Classe regina e un giovane Rookie da valorizzare, abbiamo il piacere di annunciare l’arrivo in squadra del ventiduenne Rick Elzinga, fisicamente già strutturato per il 450 e con un curriculum brillante che cercheremo di arricchire già al suo primo anno nella massima categoria. Presto annunceremo anche il nome dell’altro pilota, le trattative sono in corso.”

Ho avuto la possibilità di provare la moto e mi è piaciuta subito molto, presto inizieremo a lavorare insieme e confesso che sono molto entusiasta per questa mia prima stagione in sella ad un 450, una ‘rookie season’ importante per me! I ragazzi del team sono molto disponibili e l’obiettivo adesso è di prepararsi al meglio per arrivare alle prime tappe del Mondiale con un buon feeling con la moto e una buona condizione fisica”.
Mentre il team ed il pilota olandese lavorano per affrontare al meglio l’inizio della stagione, l’attesa per il Mondiale MXGP 2026 si fa sempre più intensa e a breve sarà rivelato il nome dell’altro pilota che completerà la line-up Beta per la stagione 2026.

The first rider in the new MX Beta rider line-up for the 2026 season has been unveiled.
Dutchman Rick Elzinga will take to the track in the 2026 MXGP Motocross World Championship with the Beta RX450 of Team Beta MRT Racing: an agreement has been reached between Team Beta and the 23-year-old rider born in Zenderen.
EMX 250 European Champion in 2022, Rick finished in the top ten, coming seventh, in the 2024 MX2 World Championship season, securing his first world championship podium in Portugal and another second place in the legendary Lommel.
In the 2025 season, which has just ended, Rick confirmed his qualities in the MX2 World Championship with consistent top ten finishes and thirteenth place in the final standings despite missing four GPs due to a collarbone injury. He returned to racing in good physical condition at the end of the season, narrowly missing out on the podium in the final GP in Australia, where he was third for most of Race 2.
Elio Marchetti: “We are proud to continue our relationship with Beta for the 2026 MXGP Motocross World Championship season, and we are already working on the first tests with the new RX450s. We would like to thank Ben Watson and Tom Koch for their hard work in 2025; for 2026, our team will still consist of two riders. Confirming our strategy of having a more experienced rider in the premier class and a young rookie to develop, we are pleased to announce the arrival of 22-year-old Rick Elzinga, who is already physically suited to the 450 and has an impressive track record that we will seek to enhance in his first year in the top category. While the team and the Dutch rider are working hard to prepare for the start of the season, anticipation for the 2026 MXGP World Championship is growing, and the name of the other rider who will complete the Beta line-up for the 2026 season will be revealed shortly.
