Ventunesimo al termine delle prove cronometrate, Tom Koch (Beta RX450) ha chiuso in dodicesima posizione la qualifica, con una buona rimonta. Il tedesco si è ben difeso in gara uno, che ha chiuso al sedicesimo posto. Nella seconda, Koch è partito a ridosso della top ten e dopo essersi preso il dodicesimo posto nel corso dei primi giri lo ha difeso con grinta fino alla bandiera a scacchi. I quattordici i punti guadagnati a fine giornata gli hanno permesso di finire quattordicesimo assoluto.
Fine settimana del GP di casa segnato dalla sfortuna per Ben Watson (Beta RX450). Diciannovesimo al termine delle prove cronometrate, l’inglese si è ritirato in qualifica dopo una caduta in cui ha rimediato un infortunio al tallone. Nonostante il dolore, Ben ha stretto i denti riuscendo a cogliere un diciottesimo e un quattordicesimo posto nelle manche titolate; piazzamenti che gli hanno permesso di terminare diciassettesimo nell’assoluta di giornata e di confermarsi in dodicesima posizione nella classifica di campionato.
MRT Racing Team Beta Factory tornerà in pista il 12/13 luglio nel Gran Premio della Finlandia, tredicesimo round iridato della stagione che sarà disputato sul circuito Kymiring di Kausala.
Tom Koch: “Nelle libere il feeling era buono. Nelle cronometrate invece non sono andato benissimo ma i tempi sul giro erano molto ravvicinati al gruppo di testa ed ero fiducioso per la gara. La qualifica non è iniziata al meglio ma nei primi giri ho recuperato molto bene, terminando dodicesimo. Domenica il tracciato era più bagnato, c’erano molte buche e profondi canali. In partenza ho commesso qualche errore ma il sedicesimo e dodicesimo posto sono dei buoni risultati. I migliori delle ultime settimane. Lascio l’Inghilterra con un buon feeling. Adesso ci fermeremo per un paio di settimane ma non vedo l’ora di tornare in pista per affrontare la parte finale della stagione”.
Ben Watson: “Matterley Basin non è andata secondo i miei piani. Appena sceso in pista ho trovato un tracciato che non mi piaceva, incredibilmente veloce e poco tecnico. Al primo giro della qualifica sono caduto malamente e ho preso una forte botta al tallone. La moto era malconcia e mi sono ritirato. Nelle manche titolate mi sono dovuto accontentare di un cancelletto piuttosto defilato e le partenze sono state pessime. Nella prima mi hanno buttato fuori pista nei primi giri e da ultimo ho rimontato fino alla zona punti. Nella seconda il piede faceva ancora male ma il mio piazzamento finale è stato migliore, quattordicesimo. Fine settimana deludente ma sono contento di essere riuscito a correre nonostante non fossi al 100%. Nelle prossime settimane cercherò di guarire per presentarmi nelle migliori condizioni in Finlandia.”

The Grand Prix of Great Britain, round twelve of the FIM Motocross World Championship 2025, was held at the Matterley Basin circuit, the iconic track laid out in a natural amphitheatre in the Temple Valley (Winchester), which has also hosted the Motocross of Nations several times.
Twenty-first at the end of time practice, Tom Koch (Beta RX450) closed the qualifying session in twelfth position, with a good comeback. The German rider defended himself well in race one, which he finished in sixteenth position. In the second race, Koch started close to the top ten and after taking twelfth place during the first laps, he defended it with grit until the chequered flag. The fourteen points earned at the end of the day allowed him to finish fourteenth overall.
Home GP weekend marked by bad luck for Ben Watson (Beta RX450). Nineteenth at the end of time practice, the Englishman retired in qualifying after a crash in which he suffered a heel injury. Despite the pain, Ben gritted his teeth and managed an eighteenth and fourteenth place in the qualifying heats; placings that allowed him to finish seventeenth overall on the day and confirm his twelfth position in the championship standings.
MRT Racing Team Beta Factory will be back on track on 12th/13th July at the Grand Prix of Finland, the thirteenth round of the season, which will be held at the Kymiring circuit in Kausala.
Tom Koch: “In free practice the feeling was good. In the time practice I did not go so well, but the lap times were very close to the leading group and I was confident for the race. Qualifying didn’t start the best but I recovered very well over the first few laps, finishing twelfth. On Sunday the track was wetter, there were a lot of bumps and deep canals. I made a few mistakes at the start but 16th and 12th place are good results. The best of the last few weeks. I leave England with a good feeling. Now we will stop for a couple of weeks but I am looking forward to getting back on track for the final part of the season.”
Ben Watson: “Matterley Basin did not go according to my plans. As soon as I got on track I found a layout that I didn’t like, incredibly fast and not very technical. On the first lap of qualifying I crashed badly and hit my heel hard. The bike was damaged and I retired. In the titled heats I had to accept a very side gate and the starts were very bad. In the first one I was kicked off the track in the first laps and from last place I recovered to the points zone. In the second my foot still hurt but my final placing was better, fourteenth. It was a disappointing weekend but I’m glad I managed to race despite not being at 100%. In the coming weeks I will try to recover in order to present myself in the best condition in Finland.”
