adminIl Gran Premio della Svizzera, sesto round del Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM 2025, è andato in scena sul tracciato di Frauenfeld, pista storica situata a circa 30 km da Zurigo. Il fondo duro del circuito si è progressivamente scavato con il passare delle prove, rendendo la guida particolarmente impegnativa.
Ben Watson (Beta RX450), ventitreesimo nelle prove cronometrate, ha ottenuto la diciassettesima posizione in qualifica. In gara uno, una caduta alla prima curva lo ha costretto a ripartire dal fondo, ma è riuscito a rimontare fino alla diciassettesima posizione. Nella seconda manche, il pilota inglese è scattato vicino alla top ten e in pochi giri ha raggiunto l’ottava posizione, mantenendola per buona parte della gara, e chiudendo alla fine con un ottimo settimo posto. Tredicesimo nell’assoluta di giornata, Watson è salito all’undicesimo posto nella classifica generale di campionato.
Tom Koch (Beta RX450), autore del diciannovesimo tempo nelle cronometrate, ha ottenuto una discreta partenza in qualifica chiudendo ventesimo. In gara uno ha faticato a rimontare dopo una partenza difficile, terminando ventunesimo, appena fuori dalla zona punti. Nella seconda manche, partito ventitreesimo, ha mostrato un buon ritmo recuperando rapidamente fino alla quindicesima posizione, ma un problema lo ha costretto al ritiro.
Ben Watson: “Sabato ho trovato velocemente il feeling con il tracciato. In qualifica non ho fatto una buona partenza ma ho guidato bene fino a concludere diciassettesimo. Nella seconda non sono scattato benissimo ma sono uscito bene dalla prima curva, il che mi ha permesso di girare molto forte nei primi giri. Sono contento di come ho guidato e della mia tenuta fisica, stiamo crescendo e non vedo l’ora di tornare in pista in Portogallo.”
Tom Koch: “Fine settimana differente dal solito con prove e qualifiche al sabato e gare al lunedì. Nelle prove mi sentivo bene e nelle cronometrate ho chiuso un buon giro segnando il diciannovesimo tempo. In qualifica sono partito bene ma nei primi giri mi sono affaticato ed ho commesso anche qualche errore. Il lunedì, in entrambe le manche sono uscito bene dal cancelletto ma ho perso posizioni nelle prime curve. Nella seconda manche sono arrivato velocemente in quindicesima posizione, purtroppo, a metà gara sono stato costretto al ritiro per un problema. Non sono stato fortunato ma nelle prossime due settimane avremo la possibilità di prepararci al meglio in vista della prossima gara in Portogallo.”
Dopo tre gare consecutive, l’MRT Racing Team Beta Factory si prepara ora alla prossima tappa: il Gran Premio del Portogallo, in programma il 3 e 4 maggio sul circuito di Agueda, settimo round del Campionato Mondiale Motocross FIM 2025.

The Grand Prix of Switzerland, the 6th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship 2025, was staged on the Frauenfeld track, a historic location about 30 km from Zurich. The track’s hard ground gradually dug in as practice went on, making it particularly challenging to ride.
Ben Watson (Beta RX450), twenty-third in timed practice, achieved the seventeenth position in qualifying. In race one, a crash at the first corner forced him to start from the back, but he managed to recover to seventeenth position. In the second race, the British rider started close to the top ten and in a few laps reached the eighth position, maintaining it for a good part of the race, and finally finishing in an excellent seventh place. Thirteenth Overall for the Day, Watson moved up to eleventh in the Championship’s general standings.
Tom Koch (Beta RX450), author of the nineteenth fastest time in the time trials, got a good start in qualifying and finished twentieth. In race one he struggled to recover after a difficult start, finishing twenty-first, just outside the points zone. In the second heat, starting twenty-third, he showed good pace and quickly recovered to fifteenth position, but a problem forced him to withdraw.
Ben Watson: “On Saturday I quickly found the feeling with the track.In qualifying I didn’t make a good start but I ran well to finish seventeenth. In the second race I didn’t get a great start but came out of the first corner very well, which allowed me to lap strongly in the first few laps. I’m happy with the way I raced and with my physical fitness, we are growing and I can’t wait to get back on track in Portugal”.
Tom Koch: ’”A different weekend than usual with practice and qualifying on Saturday and racing on Monday. In practice I felt good and in the time trials I set a good lap time of nineteenth. In qualifying I got a good start but in the first laps I got fatigued and also made some mistakes. On Monday, in both heats I came out of the gate well but lost positions in the first few corners. In the second heat I quickly reached the fifteenth position, unfortunately, halfway through the race I was forced to withdraw due to a problem. I was not lucky, but in the next two weeks we will have the chance to prepare ourselves better for the next race in Portugal”.

After three consecutive races, the MRT Racing Team Beta Factory is now preparing for the next round: the Grand Prix of Portugal, scheduled for May 3rd and 4th at the Agueda circuit, the 7th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship 2025.
